Kiara Grindrod

Founder & CEO

I’m Kiara, the creative behind Imperrix Media, a photographer, content creator and social media manager with a background deeply rooted in the equestrian world. I combine an eye for imagery with an understanding of branding, social media and storytelling to create content that feels intentional, authentic and unmistakably yours. From event photography and short form video to social media management, I work with athetes, businesses, studs and events to bring their ideas to life through content that has a purpose. My approach is a balance of polished and real. I’m not interested in creating content that feels overly staged or disconnected from who you actually are. Whether I’m capturing a competition, creating content for a brand or helping a business show up online, I want the final result to feel natural, elevated and genuinely representative of you. Being involved in the equestrian industry myself has taught me the importance of understanding the environment I’m working in, the early mornings, the pressure, the unpredictability and the moments that happen in seconds. That same attention to detail carries through everything I do. I care about the bigger picture. The way your brand looks, the story it tells, how your audience experiences it and, ultimately, what it achieves for your business.

Successful applicants will receive a complementary creative shoot with Imperrix Media.
This is an opportunity to create imagery that is intentional, editorial, powerful and completely tailored to the vision of the shoot.
I will have full creative direction and creative freedom over the shoot, including the location, styling, posing, preparation, shot list and overall visual direction.
Some applicants may be asked to prepare specifically for their shoot, this could include particular outfits, tack, styling, plaiting or presentation depending on the creative concept.
To create the quality of imagery I’m aiming for, selected horses and riders must be able to arrive clean, groomed and show presented.
Horses must be suitable for professional photography and safely manageable in the environment required for the shoot.
Riders/models are also expected to arrive appropriately presented and prepared for the agreed concept.
Depending on the shoot, you may be asked to:
- Plait or otherwise professionally present your horse
- Bring specific tack or equipment
- Wear particular clothing or colours
- Prepare your horse to a specific standard
- Follow a creative brief
- Allow full creative direction throughout the session
You must also have access to your own suitable facilities/location for the shoot.
I’m based in Gippsland, Victoria, but I’m not limiting this search to Gippsland.
If you’re the right applicant and your concept, horse, business or location is something I genuinely want to photograph, I’m willing to travel including interstate.
Travel requirements will be discussed with selected applicants.
